Golf League Tracker is a full-featured league manager with a long list of scoring options. LeaderBoard Caddie (LBC) is newer and built around one idea: you should be able to run your whole league from your phone, and so should your players.

If you are the volunteer who runs the league between other obligations, you probably want to set it up in minutes and enter scores from the cart or the clubhouse. That is what LBC is for. Golf League Tracker suits an admin who wants to sit at a desktop and tune every scoring rule. The rest of this page shows where the two differ.

Where Golf League Tracker is strong

It handles match play, stroke play, Stableford, best ball, and combinations of them. It calculates gross and net skins, tracks custom contests, and exports reports to Excel and CSV. You can import players and historical scores from a spreadsheet, and your courses and history carry over from season to season. Players pay nothing, and a league pays one flat fee. It also has a handicap-only mode for groups that do not need schedules or standings.

Its biggest feature is control. Golf League Tracker lists more than 250 settings, lets you combine scoring options, and lets you override calculated points for special rules. If your league has unusual rules, that flexibility is real.

LBC has fewer settings and keeps admin time low. Flighting and quota scoring arrive by January 2027.

1. Built for the phone first

Golf League Tracker is a desktop website with an app that wraps it. The app works, and a league admin can get through the site on a phone. But the admin side is built around wide tables. Each group gets a hole-by-hole grid with a column for every hole, gross and net skins boxes, and separate buttons for saving and recording points.

LBC’s admin screens were designed for a thumb on a small screen. You can set up a league, manage the Season View, and enter scores without opening a laptop, and it runs on a desktop too. Players need nothing installed. They open a link in any phone browser.

2. One person can score the whole group

Every group has someone who does not want to use a scoring app. In LBC, one person in the group enters the scores for all four. The others just play.

3. No scoring switch to flip

In Golf League Tracker, the admin turns on player scoring for each round and has to turn it off before confirming scores, entering them by hand, or recording points. LBC has no such switch.

4. Setup in 5 minutes or less

LBC’s setup wizards walk you through the league step by step. Golf League Tracker’s setup runs through seven required steps (officers, players, courses, tee times, league dates, team numbers, and the schedule), then a settings screen with 250+ options. In a 2021 survey of its league admins, one respondent called setup “pretty hard” for someone who has never run a league.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Golf League Tracker if you have the time to go through 250 toggles to fine-tune your scoring method, and you want to do that at a desktop.

Choose LeaderBoard Caddie if you want to set up your league in 5 minutes or less, run it from your pocket, have players score without installing anything, and not worry about a player cap. LBC also means less administrative time between rounds: players enter their own scores hole by hole, and one finalize button runs handicaps, skins, standings, points, and purses. The features page walks through each step.

Switching from Golf League Tracker

You can move at any point in the season.

  1. Put your roster and current handicaps in a spreadsheet. Golf League Tracker’s reports export to Excel and CSV.

  3. Pick your play day, course, and remaining rounds. The schedule and pairings are built for you.
  4. Invite your players. Each one gets a sign-in email.

Your first two events are free, so you can run a couple of weeks before paying anything.
