Golf league management software runs your schedule, scores, handicaps, skins and standings so the commissioner isn’t doing it by hand in a spreadsheet. This page compares six tools that weekly leagues use: LeaderBoard Caddie, Golf League Tracker, GolfSoftware, EZ Golf League, Squabbit and X4Golf.

I built LeaderBoard Caddie, so read this with that in mind. I’ve run tournaments and skins games for the Mulligan Tour for years, and I checked each competitor’s site and pricing myself. Every price and feature below comes from each vendor’s own site as of October 2026. If something has changed, let me know and I’ll fix it.

How we compared them

Each tool is judged as a full league manager. That means it handles all of these for a weekly league:

  • Season schedule and pairings
  • Live scoring during the round
  • Handicaps calculated inside the software
  • Skins and payouts
  • Season standings
  • A way to reach players about rainouts and tee-time changes

Several of these companies also sell a separate handicap-only product with no schedule or standings. Those aren’t league managers, so they’re left out.

What a season costs

Flat-priced tools cost the same whether you have 16 golfers or 60. Per-golfer tools grow with every signup.

Software 24-golfer league 60-golfer league
LeaderBoard Caddie (founding rate) $67 $67
Golf League Tracker $119 + add-ons $119 + add-ons
GolfSoftware $192 $480
EZ Golf League $240 $600
Squabbit $0 free / $249.99 League Pro $0 free / $249.99 League Pro
X4Golf $55 $55

One league, one season. Golf League Tracker’s add-ons are $20 each for its photo and document gallery and its email log, plus $99 for more than 30 league dates or 100 players. EZ Golf League bills every active golfer and doesn’t say subs are free, so subs can raise the total.

LeaderBoard Caddie

Best feature: everything a weekly league needs in one product, at one low price.

Scheduling, live scoring, handicaps, skins, payouts, season standings, text messaging and CSV export all come in the $67 founding rate, with no add-ons and no per-golfer fees. Set up a season in about five minutes: pick a day, a course and a number of rounds, add players, and the schedule and pairings are built. The full feature list covers each piece.

Players score from their phones without downloading anything; the web app installs to the home screen. The leaderboard updates every 30 seconds. After the round, the commissioner can fix a score from a phone even after the event is finalized, re-run skins and payouts, and see every change in an audit log. Rainouts and tee-time changes go out by text to the whole league or a single group.

LeaderBoard Caddie doesn’t do flighting or quota scoring yet. Both are on the fall 2026 feature list.

Price: $67/year founding rate, locked for life (limited time). Two events free, then a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Best for: recreational weekly leagues that want the whole season handled in one place.

Golf League Tracker

Best feature: deep configuration, with more than 250 settings for handicaps, points and stats.

LeaderBoard Caddie has it too: handicap formulas, skins rules, scoring formats and payout splits all set to your league’s rules.

Golf League Tracker covers the full league: handicaps, points, standings, gross and net skins, sub requests that drop onto printed scorecards, and a discussion forum. Live scoring runs in the phone’s browser on the League Manager plan. It also markets to simulator and disc golf leagues.

Price: $119 per league per season, for up to 30 dates and 100 players. The email log and document gallery are $20 add-ons each, and doubling the round and player limit is $99. Free for the first 4 rounds.

Best for: commissioners who like to tune every setting.

GolfSoftware

Best feature: automated scheduling and pairings, refined since 1988.

LeaderBoard Caddie has it too: a full season schedule, groups and tee assignments in about five minutes.

GolfSoftware’s League Manager handles schedules, pairings, flighting, points and standings for 9- and 18-hole leagues. Points can be medal, match, best ball, Stableford or quota. Handicaps use any custom formula and can be locked for specific events. Admins reach players by email. A separate Club Manager product covers tournaments.

Price: $8 per golfer per year, with a 12-golfer minimum. No free trial, but a money-back guarantee.

Best for: established leagues with the same teams all season.

EZ Golf League

Best feature: live scoring and standings that players follow during the round.

LeaderBoard Caddie has it too: a live leaderboard that updates every 30 seconds, with no app download.

EZ Golf League has been around since 2015. It handles stroke play, Stableford, scramble, team best ball and match play, along with flights, payouts, online payments and league chat. Handicaps come from GHIN. Players need the iPhone or Android app to enter scores. Skins aren’t listed on its site.

Price: $10 per golfer per season, or $25 per golfer for the Managed plan with a dedicated league manager. Free trial covers 2 rounds and up to 50 golfers.

Best for: leagues where every golfer has a GHIN index and is happy to install an app.

Squabbit

Best feature: players score from a shared link, with no download or account.

LeaderBoard Caddie has it too: no app store, and the web app installs to the home screen.

Squabbit’s free tier runs a weekly league with unlimited players, 30+ formats, live leaderboards, WHS handicaps and season standings. Its site and app reviews focus on golf trips and one-off tournaments, and many of its features are built for those, such as sponsors, auctions, GPS yardages and group chat.

Price: free. League Pro, at $249.99 a year, adds a season schedule builder, draft events, scheduled announcements to members, season stats and multiple admins.

Best for: casual groups and trips, or leagues that don’t need a schedule builder or announcements.

X4Golf

Best feature: a wide range of scoring formats, including quota and combined scoring.

LeaderBoard Caddie covers the formats most weekly leagues run: stroke play, Stableford, best ball, scramble, shamble and match play.

X4Golf runs in the browser with no download. Live scoring is included and turned on round by round. Handicaps can be average, index or manual, with tee adjustments and maximum hole scores. Flights, up to six tee assignments, side games and email are built in. It also sells separate programs for couples leagues and casual weekend games.

Price: $55 a year, with unlimited players, subs, courses and rounds. Free for 4 weeks.

Best for: budget-first leagues that want a lot of format options.

X4Golf vs LeaderBoard Caddie: a hands-on comparison

Why LeaderBoard Caddie is the best value

LeaderBoard Caddie is a full league manager at a flat price that doesn’t grow with the league, and it covers the commissioner’s work after the round as well as the scoring.

  1. One flat price, any league size. A 24-golfer league pays $192 on GolfSoftware and $240 on EZ Golf League, against $67 on LeaderBoard Caddie. Over a 16-round season, that’s about 17 cents per golfer per round.
  2. No upgrade tier for league tools. Squabbit’s free tier runs a weekly league, but its schedule builder, announcements and extra admins cost $249.99 a year. Golf League Tracker charges extra for its email log and document gallery.
  3. The work after the round. Fix a score from your phone after the event is finalized, re-run skins and payouts, and keep an audit log of every change.
  4. Text the league instead of emailing it. Golf League Tracker, GolfSoftware and X4Golf use email. EZ Golf League and Squabbit rely on their apps.
  5. No app download for anyone. Players score from a link, and the commissioner runs the league from a phone.
  6. Low risk to try. Two events free, then a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Against X4Golf, LeaderBoard Caddie costs $12 more a year. That buys text messaging, phone-based admin and score fixes after finalize.

Frequently asked questions

Is there free golf league software?

Squabbit is free for weekly leagues, with paid upgrades for schedule building and announcements. Most others offer a free trial: 2 events on LeaderBoard Caddie, 4 rounds on Golf League Tracker, 2 rounds on EZ Golf League and 4 weeks on X4Golf.

Do players need to download an app?

Only on EZ Golf League, where the app is needed to enter scores. LeaderBoard Caddie, Golf League Tracker, GolfSoftware, Squabbit and X4Golf all let players score in a phone browser.

Is per-golfer or flat pricing better?

Flat pricing costs less for any league over 7 golfers. GolfSoftware’s 12-golfer minimum already costs $96, and EZ Golf League passes $67 at 7 golfers. Subs can add to a per-golfer bill too.

Can golf league software use GHIN handicaps?

EZ Golf League pulls handicaps from GHIN, and Squabbit connects to the World Handicap System. The others, LeaderBoard Caddie included, calculate a league handicap from the scores entered in the league.

What should a commissioner look for first?

Start with how scores get in and how mistakes get fixed. If players can’t score without help, or a corrected score throws off skins and standings, the commissioner ends up redoing the math by hand.

Can I move my league mid-season?

Usually. Before you switch, check whether the new tool lets you enter past scores or starting handicaps.
